‘The working environment in Kilkenny gives the teachers the best of both worlds. You have freedom of creativity and control in regards to how you manage your own classes, while also being provided with the structure of clear, easy to follow material and excellent managerial support in the form of La Jefa de Estudios and La Directora herself.’

“I’ve been working at Kilkenny since September and it is just great. There is a relaxed atmosphere in the school but we all take our jobs seriously and try to help each other whenever we can. It is nice to know that you have the support of other members of staff (not only other teachers, but also the director or the people at reception). Whenever I have a question about something, there is always someone to help!

Also, the school is provided with lots of games and different resources to use in class, which makes it even more attractive for students. It is satisfying to see the students having fun! I’m really enjoying my time here and, to be honest, I have learnt a lot too!”

Kilkenny is one of the biggest academies in Salamanca, a fantastic city with a thriving student population. I first started working at Kilkenny in 2015 and immediately felt at home, with the friendly, laid-back yet professional atmosphere that exists, which is why I have remained. There is plenty of support, resources and advice available for teachers. It is managed very well and professionally. I like the fact that each teacher gets their own classroom, in conjunction with the fact that the classes and groups you are assigned are yours for the entire academic year. This gives you the chance to get to know the students really well and build up great working relationships. This is different to other academies I have worked in. Kilkenny is a great working environment in a great city, and it is a pleasure to work here.

“I have been working at Kilkenny English School for seven years now, and during this time I have been able to grow and develop a great deal as an English teacher, having had the opportunity to teach a wide variety of students, from the very young to adults, from complete beginners to proficiency.
The teachers’ room, complete with mini kitchen area, has a large amount of  supplementary material, including games, which make it easy to practice structures or vocabulary in a fun way.
The director, the other teachers and all the staff are friendly and always willing to help you, share their ideas, and all in all, create a very comfortable working environment”
